I wanted to reach out to provide you with important information on the recent hack that has impacted nearly 20,000 of SolarWinds customers. The attack, which dates back to October 2019, has impacted many sectors including government, hospitals, educational and technology organizations. Over 80% of the Fortune 500 companies have uncovered a breach in their systems.
The investigation is being led by the Federal Government with support from private tech companies. I would encourage you to stay vigilant as more details and the depth of the attack are uncovered. There are a number of self-guided steps you can take, they are included below.

Determine which version of a SolarWinds Orion product I have installed
Verify hotfixes that have been installed (solarwinds.com)
If you determine that you do have potentially dangerous Orion products installed, take one of these actions:
- Disconnect the affected infrastructure from your environment
- Upgrade to Orion Platform version 2020.2.1 HF 2
- Perform forensic analysis to determine the amount of information accessed by the attackers
